The GRAMMY-nominated group, MercyMe, has unveiled a reinterpreted rendition of their recent single, “Then Christ Came,” enriched by the vocals of the respected worship leader, Phil Wickham.

The song, which took two years to materialize, was initially intended for MercyMe’s tenth studio album, ‘inhale (exhale)’. However, due to time constraints, Bart Millard, the band’s lead vocalist, and co-writer David Leonard couldn’t finalize the track. Recognizing the song’s potential, the band decided to tease fans by including a short, unfinished demo of its chorus in their latest work.

Subsequently, Millard teamed up with his friends, Jason Ingram and Phil Wickham, to breathe life into the unfinished lyrics. The finalized version of “Then Christ Came” made its debut in June 2022.
