Tye Tribbett, a genre-melding and powerful musician, has released his groundbreaking album, “All Things New,” through Motown Gospel. With his impressive track record of two Grammy Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, Stellar Awards, and Dove Awards, Tribbett has emerged as one of the most influential voices of his generation. His latest release not only pays homage to the musical traditions he operates within but also pushes the boundaries, redefining them within a contemporary musical landscape.
On “All Things New,” Tribbett collaborates with industry heavyweights such as PJ Morton, Kierra Sheard, Mali Music, Jekalyn Carr, and Zacardi Cortez, among others. The album features gospel radio chart-toppers “We Gon’ Be Alright” (Tribbett’s interpretation of Kendrick Lamar’s anthemic 2015 song) and “Anyhow.”
Reflecting on the album, Tribbett explains, “I created this album as a counterforce against the prevailing sense of defeat we have all experienced in recent years. I wanted to release a joyful experience into the world that would remind not just me but all of us that there is still beauty in the world.” He further adds, “Just as my first single ‘New’ states, ‘We’re not dead, we’re living… Newer times for newer gifts.’ Hopefully, this jubilant album can help renew and refresh our souls!”
